During July and August, the Enrollment Center is open Monday thru Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The Enrollment Center is closed on Friday.

The enrollment process is now online.

To register your child for a school they must have a transfer and a current report card.  The registration must be done by the parent or a legal guardian (guardianship papers must be presented at the time of registration). The parent or legal guardian must have a valid photo ID present at the time of registration. Birth certificates completed physicals, and immunization (shot) records are mandatory.  All persons registering children must bring three (3) proofs of residency.

Verification of a child’s residency in East Orange requires the presentation of:

Any three (3) of the following items listed:

  • Homeowner — East Orange property tax bill, mortgage statement, or signed Contract of Purchase
  • Tenant – Active lease (must be notarized)

  • TB testing is required for foreign-born students from select countries

.The time required to complete a registration depends on the complexity. To speed up the registration process, please complete the online application and upload the necessary documents.


If you reside with an East Orange resident and do not have the three (3) required proofs of address in your name, then you must come to the Enrollment Center and pick-up a Residency Check form. An appointment is not necessary to pick up the Residency Check form.

A birth certificate, current physical, shot records, and completion of the online application, are mandatory.

If you are having a problem completing the online registration process, an appointment is necessary. Everyone in the Enrollment Center must wear a mask.  Children do not have to be present.

We have a fax request form for school records that you can download and bring with you to your scheduled appointment (if necessary) or email it. Once the request is sent, there is a 48 hour turnaround time. Please have available the phone number, fax number, or email address for the previous school? The name of a contact person would also be helpful.

No, children registering for the East Orange School District do not have to be present at the time of registration.
