The Enrollment Center is open for registration Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Our new address is 135 Glenwood Ave.

The registration process is online.

To proceed with the registration process, please answer the following question:
     Have you ever registered your child at the East Orange Enrollment Center?

  • If the answer is yes, please call the Enrollment Center at 973-266-2399, press three, and speak
    to a staff member who will guide you thru the re-enrollment process.
  • If the answer is no, please go to the following link, fill out an online application, and upload all
    the required documents.
  • After submitting your online application, please allow 48 hours for the enrollment staff to
    review your application and contact you by email. (Make sure you have added a valid email
    address in your online application)

Medical Requirements

For Pre-kindergarten, your child must have a current copy of immunization (shot) records that are age-appropriate along with a current physical. Physical must be signed and stamped by MD. These shots are required and are without exception:

  • 4 doses DTaP
  • 3 doses Polio
  • 1 dose MMR
  • 1 dose HIB (minimum of 1 dose after the 1st birthday)
  • 1 dose Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • 1 dose Pneumococcal Vaccine (minimum of 1 dose after the 1st birthday)
  • 1 dose Influenza (annually between September 1st to December 31st each year)

Lead Testing

The state of New Jersey requires all Pre-Kindergarten students to get lead tested. Please have your child tested prior to registering. Lead Poisoning can cause learning and behavior problems in children. Lead can also cause slowed growth, anemia, and hearing problems. A child might have lead in his or her blood, but still, look healthy. Prevent lead poisoning. Special Education

Kindergarten

.The time required to complete a registration depends on the complexity. To speed up the registration process, please complete the online application and upload the necessary documents.


If you reside with an East Orange resident and do not have the three (3) required proofs of address in your name, then you must come to the Enrollment Center and pick-up a Residency Check form. An appointment is not necessary to pick up the Residency Check form.

A birth certificate, current physical, shot records, and completion of the online application, are mandatory.

If you have a problem completing the online registration process, an appointment is necessary. Everyone entering the Enrollment Center must wear a mask, and children do not have to be present.

We have a fax request form for school records that you can download and bring with you to your scheduled appointment (if necessary) or email it. There is a 48 hour turnaround time. Please have the previous school’s phone number, fax number, or email address. The name of a contact person would also be helpful.

No, children registering for the East Orange School District do not have to be present at the time of registration.
