FAQ

How early should I arrive for my appointment?

It is generally good to be at the building 5 minutes before your appointment time. This will give you enough time to pass through security and take the elevator to the Enrollment Center.

When is the last day I can come in for registration?

Registration can take place at any point in the current school year if your child meets the age requrements.

Can someone other than the parent register a child for school?

Registration must be done by a parent (named on the birth certificate) or a legal guardian (must present guardianship papers) who resides in East Orange.

Does the child have to be present at the time of registration?

Children registering for the East Orange School District must be present at the time of registation.

I don't have all of the requirements, can I still keep my appointment?

Birth certificate and shot records are mandatory, and registration cannot be completed without those documents.

For school records we have a fax request form that you can download and bring with you to your scheduled appointment.

What if I live with someone who resides in East Orange and the proof of address is in their name?

If you reside with an East Orange resident and do not have the three (3) required proofs of address in your name, then you must come to the Enrollment Center and pick-up a Residency Check form.  An appointment is not necessary to pick up the Residency Check form.

How long does the registration process take?
